A Word About Clark County United in Faith Coalition (CCUFC) regarding the No Kings Rally and March

Hi United in Faith Coalition friends, (From Martha Maier)

We have a plan for singing at the No Kings Rally: those who want to sing can meet at 11 am at the United in Faith Coalition booth that will be on the grassy area of Marshall Park, on the NW corner of Mill Plain and Fort Vancouver Drive. There likely will be a group of us in yellow T-shirts near the booth. Bring chairs if you’d like to sit.

Things to note:

There’s a “Singing Resistance” type group (made famous by the Minnesota protests) at First Presbyterian Church called “Community Sing Out.” They will join us at the rally and have a song to teach us.

If you have suggestions for simple songs we can sing, let me know. I’m putting together a song list. I will have some lyric sheets, although the songs should be easy enough to sing without music or words.

We have a portable sound system we will use.

Feel free to bring percussion or other instruments.

We will sing during the march part of the program (after the rally). Since not all are able to walk, we will sing from our “corner” as people leave the park for the walk. Those who are walking (it’s a two mile walk to Waterfront Park), can sing as they walk. We may end up in multiple groups.

“Community Sing Out” hopes to grow its size and presence. If you want to be a part of this group, contact Mary Pierce at mepprof44@gmail.com.
