Rev. Steve King

pastor

Rev. Steve King is a graduate of Claremont School of Theology and has been in ministry for over 20 years. During this time, he has served in various roles, including music/art, Christian education, and ministerial positions. Steve is passionate about seeing the social and spiritual vision of Jesus being implemented in the present. He is the proud father of four children, several pets, and husband to Rebekah.

He enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring the beautiful Northwest through activities like scuba diving, hiking, camping, or cycling. When he can’t participate in any of these activities, he can usually be found reading the nearest book he can find.
Pastor Steve’s work week is typically Sunday through Thursday. You can schedule an appointment with him at his church office here: https://calendly.com/pastorsteve-vucc

Elizabeth Spannring

office administrator

Elizabeth handles the business functions of the church and manages church communications and publications, creating the Sunday bulletins and the weekly and monthly newsletters. Having spent years working with non-profit groups, she is pleased to share her organizational skills in helping to support the church and its members.

In springtime, you can find her in the garden. Along with her husband, they try to outwit, outthink, and outlast the local deer and rabbit population and grow lots of veggies that they share with their local food bank.

Tyler Martin

music director

Tyler Martin is a composer, pianist, tenor, conductor, and teacher originally from Lunenburg, MA. They hold degrees in music performance and composition from Keene State College, and a performer-composer degree from the California Institute of the Arts. Their composition explores all aspects of the human voice in the context of both soloistic singing and choral music, and often delves into the queer experience in the modern world. Tyler's passion for singing has made them an avid choral singer and director: they love working with the Vancouver UCC Choir, and often write for the ensemble.
